Our Pastors

The Rev. Canon Martin Eppard is the founding pastor of The Church of the Good Shepherd. He and his wife Gwyn have four Children and eleven grandchildren. Father Eppard is a former Howard County Police Officer and he serves as a Police Chaplain. In addition to his duties in the parish, he is a canon to the bishop and sits on the Bishop's Council. He teaches Theology and Church History at St. Michael's Seminary and taught church history at Mt. de Sales Academy. Father Eppard received the Diploma in Biblical Studies from Elim Bible Institute. He holds a BA degree in Religion and Philosophy from Western Maryland College, an MA degree in Theology from St. Mary's Seminary & University, A Masters of Ministry degree from Holy Trinity Seminary, and the Doctor of Ministry degree from St. Michael's Seminary. Gwyn Eppard is also a graduate of Elim Bible Institute as well as nursing school. She is a singer/songwriter and poet. Gwyn is the Education Coordinator at Pregnancy Center West in Catonsville, MD.
   Father Rob Carl holds a PhD in Christian Counseling Psychology from CBC&S in Independence, MO.  He is board certified as a counselor and holds a Master of Ministry degree from Chesapeake Bible College.  Fr. Rob has been in Church leadership for 30 years.  As an ordained pastor and elder, he served an independent Charismatic Church.  He founded two independent churches.  He has served as dean of a Christian college and as Professor of Bible and Church History.  Fr. Rob has served on the pastoral staff of St. Simon Peter CEC in Easton, MD.  He founded Christ Our Savior Church on Kent Island in Chester MD.   Meg Carl has a Masters degree in Christian Counseling Psychology. She was an addictions counselor for Queen Anne's County and an outreach worker for young mothers through Head Start. Meg wrote a column for Manna magazine and a college course for Sunday School teachers. She has served as Overseer of Sunday School programs and as a teacher.   Meg is employed at the House of Delegates in Annapolis. When she is not working, she enjoys time with her grandchildren.
  Father Jon Jackson is an associate pastor at Good Shepherd.  He and his wife Marji,  were founding members of the parish.  Father Jon received a call to ministry and attended St. Michael's Seminary.  He holds the Licentiate in Theology degree.  He and Marji accepted a call to St. Andrews Church CEC in Petersburg, VA.  where Fr. Jon served as rector/pastor for 12 years.  Upon retirement they returned to their native Baltimore and now serve Good Shepherd.  Marji is an accomplished artist and uses her creative talents in the service of the Lord.
